What should I expect during my first visit?
During your first office visit, you will be asked about your health condition, lifestyle, and behavior. We need to obtain a complete picture of your treatment needs and behaviors that may contribute to your condition. You need to inform us about all treatments or medications you are taking and all medical conditions you have. The acupuncturist will examine your tongue, pulse, and your sleep habit, dietary habit, etc, then diagnoses your ailment. Depending on the diagnosis, needles will be inserted into specific points on the body, and will be left for 20-30 minutes.
Does it hurt?
Acupuncture needles are 25-50 times thinner than a hypodermic needle. Insertion of these hair-thin needles is not painful.
How can I get the most out of my Acupuncture session?
Wear loose clothing so that points on your knees and arms are easy to access.
Drinking fluids (water) and eating a light meal will enhance your treatment session.
